Test Ride on My Little Rhino

I thought it would be wise to put Little Rhino and Daddy Rhino to the test as the first days of the cycle to Cape Wrath are some of the hardest. So I came up with the idea of cycling from Brockenhurst to Lyme Regis where Rosie would meet me and we could have a relaxing time.

So off I set for 85 miles of what turned out to be wonderful cycling both on the road and off and off course in the rain again. Lots of variety and unfortunately lots of hills.

Little Rhino with Daddy Rhino. Orange is very in this year, al the best dressed people are wearing it especially in the emergency services.

The Sand Banks Chain ferry.

A muddy lain on the other side going into Dorset

Another meeting of two dumb beasts one with every right and reason to be there.

Cycling passed an historic monument that can be seen for miles around. Must remember that the "can be seen for miles around" is a clue to the elevation of a point on a map.

Passed a very attractive field with some sort of religious building in the background.

Couldn't resist this photo op for Little Rhino and there are some rather gaudily coloured flowers in the picture, sorry about that.

Cycled passed Maiden Castle built in the bronze age a couple of miles south of Dorchester. Encountered my first lamb jam on the BC2000.

Passed waving crowds of onlookers who came out to cheer Little Rhino along.

And finally got to Lyme Regis after a very brutal final climb but rewarded by a wonderful cream tea in the hotel garden and the charming company of my lady wife, no really she can be very nice.

And finally a quick shower for Little Rhino before bedtime stories!
